How TFA works: a careful process for a lasting match

At The Family Assistant we understand how personal it is to welcome someone into your family life. A Nanny or Family Assistant is, after all, closely involved in a family’s daily routines, emotions and dynamics. That is precisely why we believe it is essential that there is not only the right experience and training, but also a warm connection between both parties. To guarantee this, we take the entire selection and screening process off parents’ hands, professionally and with great care.

A clear and personal start

Our collaboration always begins with an introductory phone call. In this call we discuss the family’s situation and needs and explain how we work. If there is mutual interest, we send our general information, terms and next steps by email. We then schedule an intake meeting at a time that suits you. During this meeting we explore your wishes, family dynamics and parenting style in more depth. This allows us to judge which profile will suit you best.

The right match: selection, interviews and trial days

Once the search is officially under way, we get to work straight away. Within one to three months, parents receive a selection of carefully screened candidates, including a CV, a short profile, a salary indication and a start date. TFA schedules the interviews and evaluates them together with the family. Is there a connection? Then a trial day follows, so that both parties can experience how working together feels in practice. Only when this goes well does the process continue.

Collaboration, guidance and evaluation

After a match, we can help draw up the employment contract if you wish. As soon as both parties have signed, we send the placement invoice. But we stay involved after that too. One week after the start we get in touch for a first check in. We also schedule set evaluation moments after 3 weeks, 6 months and 10 months. In between, we are always available for advice or support. This way of working ensures that families can rely on a lasting, high quality and well suited collaboration.
