Family life around Antwerp: Brasschaat and Schilde
The green municipalities around Antwerp are popular with families looking for space and calm close to the city. Many parents run a business, work internationally or commute daily to Antwerp, Brussels or further afield. Spacious homes, children at different schools and a full programme of sport and hobbies mean there is a lot to organise. In many families more than one language is spoken at home too, from Dutch and French to English.
Ghent and Sint Martens Latem
In and around Ghent, many parents also combine a busy career with a young family, for example as entrepreneurs, in healthcare or at the university. In Sint Martens Latem, along the river Leie, families often live a little further from schools and amenities, so school runs and planning can take up a large part of the day. A dedicated Nanny or Family Assistant takes this over and brings calm to the whole family.

What a Nanny or Family Assistant does for your family
A Nanny focuses on the care and development of your children. She takes them to school and sport and picks them up, helps with homework, plans stimulating activities and prepares a healthy evening meal. A Family Assistant is the parents' right hand: she manages the family diary, books travel, organises birthdays and dinners, coordinates other staff and arranges maintenance of the house. Both work for one family from 30 hours a week and are flexible in days and hours. Read the difference between a Nanny and a Family Assistant.
