Screening and quality at The Family Assistant
A Nanny or Family Assistant comes into your home and close to your children. That is why we take the entire selection and screening process off your hands and only introduce candidates we are convinced of. This page explains what we look at before anyone is introduced to your family.

A personal interview with every candidate
We look beyond experience and availability. Personality, talents and energy determine whether someone truly fits. That is why we speak to every candidate personally. If the feeling is mutual, a meeting at our office follows, and only then can someone be introduced to families.
At least two references
Every candidate is screened on the basis of at least two references. We request recent references and check them, so you know the story holds up.

A valid certificate of good conduct
We receive and check a valid Dutch certificate of good conduct (VOG). Without a VOG we introduce no one.
Diplomas and first aid
Our Nannies hold a child related diploma, for example in childcare, nursing, teaching support or primary education, and a first aid certificate for children and babies. For Family Assistants and Personal Assistants we look at relevant diplomas and work experience for the role.
Training and coaching through the TFA Academy
Once accepted, our professionals get access to the TFA Academy, with modules on topics such as parenting, child development, etiquette and taking care of the family. We continue to coach and guide them throughout their career. In addition, our Nannies and Family Assistants follow masterclasses given by child psychologist Tischa Neve, so that they stay up to date on what children need at every stage.
Employed directly by the family
A Nanny or Family Assistant works on a full employment contract with the family or the company. If you wish, we help draw up the contract. This way the professional is covered by social insurance and the working relationship lasts.
Ongoing guidance after the start
One week after the start we contact you and the Nanny or Family Assistant, and coach where needed. After 3 weeks, 6 months and 10 months there is another evaluation. In between, you can always get in touch.
