Looking for a Nanny in Amsterdam? TFA quickly finds you the perfect match

As a parent in Amsterdam, finding the right Nanny or Family Assistant can be a challenging task. The Nanny or Family Assistant turns out not to suit your family after all, and you have lost a great deal of money, stress and hassle, only to start looking for a babysitter all over again. We show you what the challenges are and how it can be done the right way. Because we wish everyone the peace of mind of a wonderful Nanny or FA supporting their busy family life.

Amsterdam has plenty of Nannies, but the quality is not always good

We often see people looking for a Nanny or Au Pair themselves, for example through word of mouth or abroad. Au Pairs in particular who work as freelancers and hire themselves out are not always well trained, and they miss out on guidance and coaching during their job. As a result, the quality you expect from a Nanny falls short and friction can arise. There is also a chance that the Nanny ends the collaboration quickly, while after a long search you were hoping to build a lasting relationship.

Doing the screening process yourself takes a lot of time

As a busy parent in Amsterdam, you would rather not wait too long before your Nanny or Family Assistant can start. If you choose to handle the entire application and screening process yourself, you often quickly discover that it takes an enormous amount of time. And because you have no experience with it, you do not always know what to look out for. This can result in the match turning out not to be quite what you had expected. At The Family Assistant, we take the entire application process off your hands. We work exclusively with Nannies and Family Assistants whom we have screened thoroughly ourselves.

TFA works with Dutch speaking or multilingual Nannies from Amsterdam and the surrounding area

You want to find someone who is not only loving and caring, but who also suits the unique needs of your family. We do not bring in Nannies from abroad; we work with Nannies and Family Assistants from your own city or the immediate surrounding area. The Nannies know the city and Dutch culture, and they can guide and raise your children as an extension of the parents themselves. Our Nannies and Family Assistants usually speak good English as well, which means they can also be a good match for expats in Amsterdam.

No room for a live in Nanny?

The Nanny comes to your home at agreed times (for example full time or 32 hours a week) and simply sleeps in her own home, unless you agree otherwise. This makes it feasible for parents in Amsterdam who live in an apartment to hire a good and lovely Nanny, without having to give up a room.
