Caring & Independent Nanny Wanted | Amsterdam – City Center

We are looking for a dedicated nanny for a family in Amsterdam’s canal district who will care for two children, ages 6 and 9, with enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility. You will be a familiar face in the family, bringing calm and structure, and knowing exactly when to offer support or think ahead.

What will you be doing?
No two days are the same. You’ll make sure the children feel safe, seen, and at ease, while providing practical support to the family. Your duties will include:

• Picking up the children from school and taking them to (sports) activities.
• Organizing fun, creative, and appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors.
• Coordinating playdates and planning the afternoon.
• Preparing healthy meals for the children and doing the grocery shopping from time to time.
• Creating a warm, safe, and structured environment where children feel comfortable.
• Keeping the house presentable and creating a cozy, tidy atmosphere.
• Taking care of light household chores, such as cleaning up after activities, loading and unloading the dishwasher, folding laundry, and taking out the trash.
• Independently identify the family’s needs and respond to them proactively.

Who are you?
You’re someone who enjoys working within a family setting and gets a sense of fulfillment from taking the pressure off parents. You’re reliable, keep your promises, and take the initiative to get things done. 

In addition:

• Do you have proven experience in supervising and caring for children?
• Are you self-reliant, proactive, and willing to take responsibility?
• Think ahead and see what needs to be done.
• Do you communicate easily and are you fluent in the Dutch language (or South African Dutch)?
• Do you have any experience riding a cargo bike?
• Are you available from Tuesday through Friday (on Wednesdays, you'll work until around 11:00 p.m.)?
• Do you prefer to live in (or near) Amsterdam, since the property is most easily accessible by bike or public transportation?

What can you expect?

• A salary between €3,500 and €4,500 gross per month (based on a 40-hour workweek), depending on your experience and background.
• A long-term position with a warm and caring family in the heart of Amsterdam.
• A work environment where trust, open communication, and collaboration are central.

• Hours: Tuesday 2:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  Wednesday: 12:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  Thursday: 2:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  Friday: 2:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
