My ambition to be an entrepreneur has been poured into my life; it all started in our family business (Hotel Mitland). I was allowed to start in the kitchen, washing peanut sauce dishes, at the age of 14. There was no point in complaining, my father would always say, "The only way to learn and grow is to start at the bottom rung." Soon I found out that hospitality was not for me but my interest in service and having my own business all the more. This is the driving force that still energizes me every day and makes me happy.
It makes me genuinely happy to do business and in this way also contribute my bit to the family. For me, hard work does not feel like work, perhaps because I enjoy it so much and prefer to do nothing else. Entrepreneurship gives me the freedom I seek and need to get the most out of myself. Of course the support from my family helps me tremendously, I wish this special and beautiful work life balance for everyone. This is one of the driving forces behind my company: The Family Assistant.
In February 2020 I started The Family Assistant with the main goal: To give as many ambitious women and men as possible the opportunity to combine a career with a stress-free 'family life'. A Family Assistant is someone who makes sure you can fully focus on your work, while at home everything runs perfectly, and after work you can enjoy more and have quality-time with the family.
From my own experience, entrepreneurship and a family (3 sons), I know what is involved in having a career and a family life. Both deserve my maximum attention but that is not always easy. This is why a Family Assistant* or Nanny is so important and nice and how to achieve the ideal balance for the whole family. In short: Thekey to a stress-free family life and beautiful career!
